eshey Choden is an interdisciplinary artist and art director from Bhutan, trained in fashion design in Paris. Making, researching and directing are, to her, three ways of telling one story, and ach of them is a language he moves between freely: cloth, image and place.
er foundation is slow fashion: garments drawn and sewn by hand, natural dyeing, co printing and the restoration of old textiles, learnt in studios in Paris and in the villages of Bhutan. Her research follows the weavers who keep that heritage alive.
Today her practice is turning toward art direction: campaigns, visual identities and collaborations that connect fashion with lifestyle, photography and other domains. Honouring the past, she believes, is the most powerful wa to shape what comes next.
